Aircraft Maintenance Bid Rules Minimize

 

The following NEW PROCEDURES will apply to the                                                                2012 DFW Aircraft Maintenance Crew Bid #3
Tech Crew Chiefs will bid on 05/14/12
GEN Crew Chiefs will bid on 05/14/12
 GEN AMT’s will begin bidding on 05/15/12
AVI Crew Chiefs will bid on 05/23/12
AVI Amts will begin bidding on 5/24/12
Effective Dates
General and TCC – 6/30/12 - 9/28/12
Avionics – 07/07/12 – 09/28/12
Every employee must submit a PAPER BID in the BID BOX! (NO EXCEPTIONS)
1.      All employees must submit a paper bid that contains one of the following selections:                              
A.   A full paper bid all selection choices (current process); contact phone number is optional                                   B.   A partial paper bid, some selection choices, with a contact phone number (YOU MAY BE CALLED)           C.   A bid sheet with your contact phone number, no selection choices (YOU WILL BE CALLED)
The bid room will call you at the number you provide on your bid form; it is your responsibility to provide a contact number. The bid will be available at http://twu565.org - allowing members to view the bid live on the website. The official results will be updated on the DFW bid boards at the end of each bidding day.
NOTE: THE CONTACT NUMBER YOU PROVIDE, ON YOUR BID SHEET, IS THE ONLY NUMBER THAT                                WILL BE USED TO CALL YOU.         THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS ANNUAL BIDS
2.      Bid sheets will be picked up from the bid boxes, as follows, each day of the bid:                                                                                                                                                                   C-1    0700          A-1    0710         D     0720        Hgr 2    0735          Hgr 3    0745
NOTE: IF YOU PLACE YOUR BID IN THE BID BOX AFTER THE ABOVE CUTOFF TIMES ABOVE, ON THE DAY OF YOUR BID, YOU WILL BE SLOTTED IN THE NEXT DAY; UNLESS YOU CALL THE BID ROOM IN YOUR ALLOTTED TIME SLOT.  IF YOU FAIL TO SUBMIT A PAPER BID OR DO NOT PROVIDE A CONTACT NUMBER, YOU WILL BE BYPASSED, UNTIL YOU CALL THE BID ROOM. THE BID ROOM TELEPHONE CALL-IN NUMBER is (972) 425-3163.
3.      If you elect to be contacted by the bid room, to bid your slot, you have a 5-minute time-slot to make your selection. After the 5-minute allotment has elapsed, you will be bypassed for the next employee that is eligible for their 5-minutes. After the next employee makes their selection, you will be again asked to make your bid selection – the bid will not be held up for an individual bid beyond their 5-minute time slot.
4.      The bid room will make 2 attempts to contact the employee within their 5-minute time-slot, leaving a voice message when available; please leave your phone line open to receive calls in your 5-minute time-slot. If the bid room cannot reach you within your 5-minute time slot, you will be bypassed and bid when you call the bid room, after the current bidder on the clock makes their selection.
5.      Only call into the bid room at (972) 425-3163, if you have failed to submit your bid or submitted your bid after the times listed above. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE BID ROOM FOR BID RESULTS – visit http://twu565.org for this information.
6.      You will not be allowed to bid if you are not on payroll at your bid time-slot, except for employees on a Military Leave of Absence. Upon return to regular duty you will be assigned to a work area and days off based on your occupational seniority and operational needs. You will remain in that position until you are able to bid into another position, via the regular bid or a posted opening, based on your occupational seniority.                    
7.      NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO BID FOR ANOTHER PERSON.
8.      Remember, your days off may effect your vacation week selection. If you select Tues/Wed, Wed/Thurs, or Tues/Wed/Thurs, as your days off - your vacation will move back to the week prior to your vacation week selected.
AMTs bidding the Day Hangar Taxi Crew, Utility Crews, Evening Hangar Taxi/Work/ParkCrew, and Crew 4 must be taxi qualified on at least 2 fleets or 1 fleet and  Goldhofer by 2330 on 05-11-2012. in order to bid these crews.
AMTs bidding the Day Hangar Work/Park/Taxi Crew: AMT’s will be proffered the park crew daily, at 0630 in the Hangar 3 engine shop, by the Crew Chief; volunteering to the park crew using occupational seniority order or forced lowest occupational seniority to highest - if necessary. This is the default option; the park crew may choose to do things differently, by written majority of the Work/Park/Taxi crew submitted to TWU Local 565.
AMTs bidding the Terminal Widebody Crews are required to be 767 & 777 ETOPS Qualified & have a Customs Sticker or Customs paperwork submitted by 2330 on 02-17-2012, in order to bid this crew.
AMTs bidding D-Terminal Crews are required to have a Customs Sticker or Customs paperwork submitted by 2330 on 05-11-2012, in order to bid this crew.
General AMTs bidding Vacation Relief is an annual bid and will only fill day and afternoon shift slots.
AMTs bidding Oiler. The oiler position will primarily be tasked with servicing engine and APU oil on terminating aircraft, ETOPS aircraft, and those aircraft as assigned by the Crew Chief designated to assign the oiler.
AMTs bidding the Utility Crews will be assigned as necessary, under the direction of the Crew Chief to support the DFW operation. This will include, but not limited to OTS aircraft, MELs, aircraft movement, scheduled and unscheduled checks, and any other duties as required at any location to facilitate and support DFW Aircraft Maintenance operational needs.
Anyone who will be on vacation during the shift bid selection process is requested to submit their bid sheet, in a bid box, before leaving for vacation, using the updated bid form in accordance with Number 1 above, or you will be bypassed. Updated bid forms are available online at http://twu565 or copies may be available throughout the work areas and outside the administration offices in Hangar 3.
