Injury On Duty IOD Minimize

What to do if you are injured on duty:

The following basic information is a step by step guideline to help you understand what you should do when you are injured on duty.  If you have any questions or problems regarding an injury at work, please feel free to call the Union Hall or contact one of your Union Representatives.

1.     To avoid unwanted disputes and/or loss of benefits, you MUST report your injury immediately to your supervisor / manager on duty, regardless of how minor the injury may be.  Request a copy of the Accident Report from the supervisor who is filing the accident report.

2.     In order to fill out an accident/injury report properly, you may ask that a union steward be present to assist you.

3.     Changes in Texas state law now require employee's of American Airlines to use the Corvel Network to select a treating doctor for a workers compensation claim.

4.     To find a treating doctor access the internet at corvel.com. Under employees select your state then enter search criteria.

5.     In addition to these guidelines, you should file a TWCC Form 41, with the state of Texas.  This ensures the state has a record of your injury on file.  You have one year, from the date of injury, to file the above form.  The individual handling your claim from the TWCC office can provide you with this form.
